I was having the exact same problem as the OP, I knew it was going to be something really simple but was going round in ever decreasing circles failing to find it. Has just stopped me tearing my hair out for another 6 hours of solid confusion. I created the local admin account and got rid of all of the marketing BS tiles and the like but they all come back when I join to a domain (as it is creating a new user). Even if it's a year after the advice was originally given! The single lineġ.check preferred DNS server :it should be ip address of domain controller. Long story short is that I am working on a proof of concept machine with Windows 10 (clean install). I love finding helpful people on the internet.
